Healthy Kids

First off, healthy kids mean healthy parents. The more often they see you do it, then the more likely they are to do it. Except for when they go through teen years and try to do whatever the hell they want.

ANNNNYwaysss!

The first place you start with is with yourself. What are your eating habits and how will you adapt for your kids? And why do you want them to have a healthy lifestyle anyway? Be continuous with your learning on the subject including new information through science and make an effort to pass the information onto your kids. For instance, with me, I was lucky enough to meet one of my best friends many years ago when I worked a medical office. I appreciated his approach and emphasis on preventative health care and wellness care. Because of him, I learned that it's not always a magic pill that will help you, but if you do just the right amount of correct things, you can contribute to your long term health such as when you are 80s and 90s. And it's not to say that you WILL live that long, but if you do... you will be so glad that you did.. because let's think about it for a second, who doesn't want to hang out with their grandkids and maybe great grandkids?

Here are some of key factors when considering your kid's health.

Do you want to eat healthy or BE healthy? Eating healthy may take mastery of new food items and may hit rejection at first attempts, Then again, you can also eat unhealthy but take vitamins, do health shakes, and have a routine physical workout. You have to find out which method would work better for you and your kids. Then try to create an agenda for it. For instance, if you are going to "eat healthy" make a list of your foods (do this with your kids, it would be great!) and create a menu with the items on the food list. Make a menu for both breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks (and dessert -if you're an overachiever!) that way you can organize the meals in advance - this will also save time on those days when you're running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

On the other hand, if you want to "be healthy" and are okay with eating all the animals until there are none left, then you can also make a list of activities to do participate with your kids in and do these throughout the week. You can list such things as "going for a neighborhood walk" or "walk through a park" or "play basketball." You have the responsibility to make sure they are staying active and taking their vitamins if they are going to eat junk food. For my kids, it's vitamins, foods that are both healthy and greasy, water, and lots of outdoor play.

Now what may "sound like healthy" foods may not work for everyone. You, as the parent, know how your body reacts to certain food or drink. When it comes to the kids, you need to pay closer attention to how their body reacts. Allergies such as those to dairy, peanuts, or gluten can affect a child's body not only physically, but mentally as well. ( https://www.healthline.com/health/brain-fog#causes ). So be sure that you get the foods that agree with your kid's tummy.

Why vitamins? Vitamins are the all in one magic pill. (I know I said that there IS not magic pill, but I didn't want to start with that first, because that's taking away the climax!). Vitamins ARE (kinda) a magic pill. They can provide with the same nutrients that the healthy foods would give you, such as carrots (beta carotene, fiber, vitamin K1, potassium, and antioxidants). So if you are unable to get the recommended amount of nutritional value from a food, you can look to supplement it with vitamins. And also, this magic pills takes like 30 years to kick in. SO, whatever you do, don't stop stop taking them. Your elderly joints beg you.

Here is some more advice (quick, catch it!) Being proactive about staying healthy will save you so much mental strain from overworrying about your kids getting sick. Practice hand washing frequently! And for goodness sake, stop touchin' ya face!!! LOL.

One last (very important) thing to remember is how it will affect you financially. Oh that's great that you got a lot of money to just burn, but some of us may not...and so we have to know how our eating habits or supplement routine will cost us and does it affect our decision on which routine we choose. (pssst, the answer is Yesssssssss).
