*cheerful and emphatic royal trumpets play in the background*

Hi There! My name is Jimmy and this is my website about Parenting - and other parts of life - from a Dad's perspective. I've enjoyed creative writing since about 15 years old and to this day, I still get excited to create a story. The idea originally came to me when I began writing a light-hearted parenting book for young fathers (16 to 22 years old). It was created with them in mind as a way to disperse information and stories of first hand experience that may be helpful in the personal development that can come with parenting. The more I wrote it, the more it sounded like a cheesy thing you would learn in junior high school health class (...yeah, I said "junior high". That's how far I go back.) And so I continued to develop it for that type of audience, as perhaps it could be a textbook for a high school one day.

As the details of writing my own book began to settle in, I decided to make the switch over to blogging since it's more cost effective among other advantages. I am also able to integrate writing as part of my regular routine, and Parenting has given me something very casual to write about because I've been knee deep in it everyday for the past 12 years.

Although this is a dad's point of view, the topics and information I write about is pretty general and relative to ANY Parent who is actively dedicated to their Kids. It is primarily comprised of articles that I write on raising children and parenthood.

I am just 1 regular person and these are all my opinions. My articles always mean to have an uplifting view and tone on parenting from my personal parenting experience.

My goal here is to provide support and encouragement to parents who may be going through some struggles, or parents who just want to relate with other parents... and with so many people in the world, some of them may be able to relate to my interactions with my kids. My hope is to be a positive influence on a young Dad or young Mom that will motivate them to continually reach for their highest potential as a parent as well as a person. Confidence in parenting is just as important as confidence in anything else.

I realize that there are a TON of websites out there that discuss many other aspects of parent life - such as cooking, cleaning, arts and crafts, etc. So I will also include links to those websites whenever I find ones that may be useful. I believe that the more collectively we can work, the more we can also achieve individually. Can I get a hip-hip-hooray for Parenting? Hip-Hip...

HOORAY!!!

Gotta love that enthusiasm. By the way, this place is gonna have an array of cheesy dad humor. For instance, while dropping off my kids at school one morning, I placed my hand over my son's head and pretended to sprinkle something on it with my finger tips. He looked at my hand curiously and said "Dad, what is that?" to which I calmly replied, "It's just "Awesome dust", son; I had so much, I thought I would share with you." His eyes rolled and rumbled out "Daaaaaad".  Then my little daughter said joyfully, "Oh, I'll have some dad" and she snuggled her head in my direction. I love the cheesy dad role. Could you imagine a conference of cheesy dads? We'd all have sore facial muscles from all the smiling. That's kinda creepy.

Oh, and I also have a category - stories and tidbits.  This is another outlet for my creative thoughts that may land outside of parenting, but still coming from a parent.

Lastly, How do you like my logo? It's like a vintage 80's sports video game look. I created it myself. Way-to-go-Jimbo!

Alrighty, you ready? Let's go do some parenting.
