GERMS

When it comes to bad hygiene and uncleanliness, have you ever used the term 'nasty'? For example, I've actually witnessed my son picking between his toes, and then bite his finger nails (apparently unbeknownst to him as he was fully committed to Sponge Bob). And I thought to myself.. "that's nasty" and then very politely asked him to please not do that. But, hey, I guess it was in my genes somewhere. I mean, that's science.

Here's another example: When we moved into our first place with all 3 kids, I had to do some deep cleaning from the prior tenants. And some of the parts of the bathroom... was nasty. I used toothbrushes to make sure every centimeter was cleaned.

And do you know why?

Because kids are nasty. Unbeknownst to them, of course. They will put there mouth and lips and tongue on the floor just because it's cold. I mean, we know it's not ice cream, but - hey - let's give it a try.

Me and the kids were at the mall one time, (not really for shopping as much for walking, people watching, and fresh baked cookies) and as we took the elevator - 3 times, so that each child got a chance to push the button - and one of them put their tongue on the safety bar. I'm pretty sure I said "STOP" so fast, I probably sounded like a bark. A chihuahua bark. I couldn't believe it!

In the highly populated world that we live in today, there are an extensive amount of chemicals and nastiness everywhere. Be mindful of this for the sake of your children's health.

So, now that you know it's going to happen, just look out for it, and the best you can do is keep your own darn house clean.
